 MOTHERING SUNDAY                     21 March 2004

Eucharistic Prayer A may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  God of love, passionate and strong, tender and careful:  watch over us and hold us all the days of our life; through Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

Readings      (St Peter’s):  Exodus 2:1-10     2 Corinthians 1:3-7     Luke 2:33-35
  (All Saints’):  2 Corinthians 5:16-21       Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32

Post Communion:  Loving God, as a mother feeds her children at the breast you feed us in this sacrament with the food and drink of eternal life:  help us who have tasted your goodness to grow in grace within the household of faith; through Jesus Christ our Lord.     AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for all our schools, remembering especially our Church Schools, Victoria First School and headteacher, Janet Robinson and Thomas Coram School and headteacher Bob Essery

for the work of Dacorum Rent Aid

for Isobel Helen Frances Foot, Daisy Janneke Groet and Katie-May Shaylor being baptised today at St Peter’s and for their parents and godparents

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Michael Taylor, Brenda Quarmby, Pamela Christmas, Mavis Haile, Rod Cottrell, Alice Chambers, Vaughan Meakins, Martin Judd

for those who have died recently:  Phyllis Callaghan, Brian Hobson

and at their anniversaries pray for: Audrey Earl, Ralph Cousins, Jim Pullen, Gwen Adkins, Maureen Coleman, Ivy Dye, Annie Sharpley, Albert King, Gertrude Barker, Stan Dunford, Jack Jackson

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Edlyn Close + Dorset Close

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
