news for pews

THE SECOND SUNDAY of LENT 7 March 2004
Eucharistic Prayer A may be used at Holy Communion Services today
We welcome all who worship here
today. If you are a newcomer please
speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy. We invite you to complete a card which you
will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it
to one of the welcomers. Communicant
members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you are not receiving Communion please
come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect: Almighty God, by the prayer and discipline of Lent may we enter into the mystery of Christ’s sufferings, and by following in his Way come to share in his glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord AMEN
Readings: Genesis 15:1-12,17,18 Philippians3:17-4.1 Luke13:31-35
Post Communion: Almighty God, you see that we have no power
of ourselves to help ourselves: keep us
both outwardly in our bodies, and inwardly in our souls; that we may be defended from all adversities
which may happen to the body, and from all evil thoughts which may assault and
hurt the soul; through Jesus Christ our
Lord AMEN
We pray this week
for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and
Richard his suffragans
for the Centre
for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and for the Iain
Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who provide care
in many ways.
for
