THE SECOND SUNDAY BEFORE LENT    15 February 2004

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Almighty God, give us reverence for all creation and respect for every person, that we may mirror your likeness in Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

Readings:  Genesis 2:4b-9, 15-25         Revelation 4         Luke 8:22-25

Post Communion:  God our creator, by your gift the tree of life was set at the heart of the earthly paradise, and the bread of life at the heart of your Church:  may we who have been nourished at your table on earth be transformed by the glory of the Saviour’s cross and enjoy the delights of eternity;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for our Church Schools, Victoria First School and headteacher, Janet Robinson and Thomas Coram School and headteacher Bob Essery

for the work of Dacorum Rent Aid

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Michael Taylor, Brenda Quarmby, Pat Large, Pamela Christmas, Christine Tucker, Mavis Haile, Rod Cottrell, Alice Chambers

for those who have died recently:  Peter Chambers, Jim Lawrenson

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Mary Alsop, Emma Scott, Norah Glenister, Mary Grieve, Baby Ellen Dipper

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Elm Grove + Sayers Almshouses

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
