news for pews
(assembled in Singapore)

THE CONVERSION OF PAUL 25 January 2004
Eucharistic Prayer B may be used at Holy Communion Services today
We welcome all who worship here today. If you are a newcomer please speak to one
of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.
We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on
the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers. Communicant members of all Churches are
welcome to receive Holy Communion. If
you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing
and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect: Almighty God, who caused the light of the gospel to shine
throughout the world through the preaching of your servant Saint Paul: grant that we who celebrate his wonderful
conversion may follow him in bearing witness to your truth; through Jesus Christ your son our Lord, who
is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and
for ever. AMEN
Readings: Acts 9:1-22 Galatians
1:11-16a Matthew 19:27-30
Post Communion: Almighty God, who on the day of Pentecost
sent your Holy Spirit to the apostles with the wind from heaven and in tongues
of flame, filling them with joy and boldness to preach the gospel: by the power of the same Spirit strengthen
us to witness to your truth and to draw everyone to the fire of your love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
We pray this week
for Christopher our Bishop
and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans
for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder
and Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles
toddler groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them
for the United Society for the Propagation of the
Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa)
for Louis Max Townsend being baptised at St
Peter’s today and for his parents and godparents
for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved; and amongst the sick for Judith Hill,

Tucker, Mavis Haile, Rod Cottrell, Alice Chambers, Peter McMunn, Martin Wright,
