THE
PARISH OF BERKHAMSTED St
Peter’s with All Saints’ |
news for pews

MATTHEW, Apostle and Evangelist Sunday 21 September 2003
Eucharistic Prayer F or G may be used at Holy Communion Services
today
We welcome all who worship here
today. If you are a newcomer please
speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy. We invite you to complete a card which you
will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it
to one of the welcomers. Communicant
members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you are not receiving Communion please
come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect: O Almighty God, whose blessed Son called Matthew the tax collector to be an apostle and evangelist: give us grace to forsake the selfish pursuit of gain and the possessive love of riches that we may follow in the way of your Son Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. AMEN
Readings: Proverbs3 13-18 2 Corinthians 4 1-6
Matthew 9 9-13
Post Communion Lord God, the source of truth and love, keep us faithful
to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, united in prayer and the breaking of
bread, and one in joy and simplicity of heart, in Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
We pray this
week

Richard his suffragans
for
