THE THIRD SUNDAY AFTER TRINITY                      6 July 2003

Eucharistic Prayer F or G may be used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect  God our Saviour, look on this wounded world in pity and in power and help us to hold fast to your promises of peace through Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

Readings:  Ezekiel 2 1-5     2 Corinthians 12 2-10     Mark 5. 1-13

Post Communion:  O God, whose beauty is beyond our imagining and whose power we cannot comprehend:  show us your glory as far as we can grasp it, and shield us from knowing more than we can bear until we may look upon you without fear;  through Jesus Christ our Saviour.     AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for the Centre for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who provide care in many ways.

for Anna Charlotte Black being baptised at All Saints’ today and for her parents and godparents.

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Nancy & Jim Lawrenson, Brenda Quarmby, Michael Taylor, Susanne Kirkby, Muriel Norman, Christina Billington

for those who have died recently:  Effie Dunwoody

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Hamish Douglas, Bernard Kempster, Florence Conway, Karen Breakwell, Harry Smith, Mary Monger

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
