PARISH OF BERKHAMSTED St
Peter’s with All Saints’ |
![]()
ST ALBAN, FIRST MARTYR OF BRITAIN; 22 June 2003
Eucharistic
Prayer F or G may be used at Holy Communion Services today
We welcome all who worship here today. If you are a newcomer please speak to one
of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.
We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on
the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the
welcomers. Communicant members of all
Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion. If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail
for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.
Collect: Eternal Father, when the gospel of Christ
first came to our land you gloriously confirmed the faith of Alban by making
him the first to win a martyr’s crown:
grant that, following his example, in the fellowship of the saints we
may worship you, the living God, and give true witness to Jesus Christ your Son
our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever. AMEN
Readings: Wisdom 3.1-3 2
Timothy 2.3-7 John 12.24-26
Post Communion: God our Redeemer, whose Church was
strengthened by the blood of your martyr Alban: so bind us, in life and death, to Christ’s sacrifice that our
lives, broken and offered with his, may carry his death and proclaim his
resurrection in the world; through Jesus Christ our Lord. AMEN
We pray this week
for Christopher our
Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans
for our Church Crèches, Sunday Schools, Pathfinder and
Young People’s Fellowship groups and for Little Fishes & Chuckles toddler
groups, for all who attend them and for all who help to run them,
for the United Society for the Propagation of the
Gospel (and especially Andrew and Janice Proud working in Addis Ababa)
for Isabella Juliet McMurray Montague being
baptised at St Peter’s today and for her parents and godparents
for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved; and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Jim
Lawrenson, Christina Billington, Brenda Quarmby, Michael Taylor, Susanne
Kirkby, Muriel Norman
for those who have died recently:
and at their anniversaries pray for: Jack Bandle
We give thanks for our communion with all the
Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.
At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who
lives in Castle Hill
PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer
etc. Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s
are normally available from the church table.
Do take copies for anyone not here today.
