THE SEVENTH SUNDAY OF EASTER                         1 June 2003

Eucharistic Prayer E is being used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Risen, ascended Lord, as we rejoice at your triumph,  fill your church on earth with power and compassion, that all who are estranged by sin may find forgiveness and know your peace, to the glory of God the Father.   AMEN

Readings:  Acts 1.15-17, 21-26      1 John 5.9-13     John 17.6-19

Post Communion    Eternal God, giver of love and power, your son Jesus Christ has sent us into all the world to preach the gospel of his kingdom: confirm us in this mission, and help us to live the good news we proclaim; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for the Centre for the elderly at Gossoms End, for the Hospice of St Francis and for the Iain Rennie Hospice at home, for those who need care and for those who provide care in many ways.

for all who are preparing for their First Communion next Sunday:  Ella Beaumont, Eleanor Bonney, Alice Jullien, Stephen Jullien, Maximilian Khazaneh, Jessica Malcolm, Edward Malcolm, Lucy O’Neill, Edward O’Neill

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Jim Lawrenson, Brenda Quarmby, Michael Taylor, Susanne Kirkby, Muriel Norman

for those who have died recently: Doreen Jones, Basil Williams

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Ethel King, Alison Stephenson

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Princes Close & Dukes Way
