THE FOURTH SUNDAY OF EASTER     11 May 2003

Eucharistic Prayer E is being used at Holy Communion Services today

We welcome all who worship here today.   If you are a newcomer please speak to one of the welcomers or to one of the clergy.   We invite you to complete a card which you will find in your pew, or on the table near the door of the church, and hand it to one of the welcomers.   Communicant members of all Churches are welcome to receive Holy Communion.   If you are not receiving Communion please come to the altar rail for a blessing and carry a book so the minister knows.

Collect:  Risen Christ, faithful shepherd of your Father’s sheep:  teach us to hear your voice and follow your command, that all your people may be gathered in one flock, to the glory of God the Father.   AMEN

Readings:  Acts 4.5-12     1 John 3.16-24     John 10.11-18

Post Communion:  Merciful Father, you gave your Son Jesus Christ to be the good shepherd, and in his love for us to lay down his life and rise again:  keep us always under his protection, and give us grace to follow in his steps;  through Jesus Christ our Lord.   AMEN

We pray this week

for Christopher our Bishop and for Christopher and Richard his suffragans

for Sister Diana of the Sisters of the Love of God, for Geoffrey Tristram of the Society of St John the Evangelist and all those who are living in a Religious Community

for the work of the Church Army

for the lonely, the anxious, the bereaved;  and amongst the sick for Judith Hill, Jim Lawrenson, Jenny Luckhurst, Brenda Quarmby, Michael Taylor, Susanne Kirkby, Margaret Trickett, David Jackson, Doreen Jones, Muriel Norman

for those who have died recently: Winifred Hibberd and Florence Pearce

and at their anniversaries pray for:  Jean Meyer, Maisie Marriott, Margaret Barnard, Norman Smith, Cynthia Wheeler

We give thanks for our communion with all the Saints, especially the Blessed Virgin Mary and St Peter our patron.

At All Saints’ the weekly prayers are for everyone who lives in Castle Hill Avenue + Castle Hill Close

PLEASE TAKE THIS PEW LEAFLET AWAY WITH YOU  as a reminder of dates, subjects for prayer etc.   Fr Mark’s sermons at St Peter’s are normally available from the church table.   Do take copies for anyone not here today.
